The Sussex Academy are trying to raise funds for St Dunstans and we would appreciate anyone and everyone coming along to support them. On May 9th at Sussex CCC.
There is also a silent auction for the opportunity to play for the Sussex Academy Select XI in this floodlit match against the Army

It is generally agreed that this Tournament has been a huge success, and has been enjoyed by the boys and girls alike.
The organising Committee would like to thank all the Managers, Umpires,and Supporters,as well as the Horsham District Council, and the Local Network.
Fund for their support to ensure that this project was successful.
The Organising Committee will be Meeting soon to discuss any changes to the Rules

MCC Spirit of Cricket Under 13 inter Club and Nationwide Under 15 inter club- mail shot to all contacts being sent out today- Rules/regulations/draw/contacts- note Chiddingly Under 15 change of contact
After the Final, the Champions will be presented with the Trophy.
Congratulations to the four Clubs who have made it through to the semi-finals, and good luck to each team.
I hope that each team will be well supported, and it would be nice to see Representatives from other Clubs, not represented on the night,but who have Contributed so much to the success of this Tournament. Peter Garland

Times have changed- Luke Wells , St Bede's School Under 17 went to Abu Dubai to score 178 in an Arabian Challenge. Eastbourne College won the tournament which also included Worth School and Wellington College.

The Sussex Young Cricketers Educational Trust launched 3 appeals this year.
The response has been tremendous. In just 2 months 1,674 people have donated a minimum of £10 each top become a Friend of the Trust
11 Companies have given £500 each to towards sponsorship of the SYCET
14 individuals have spent £1,000 each for a period of 3 years to become a Vice President of the Trust.
Thus a sum in excess of £50,000 has been raised by the Trust - full details

St. James Montefiore( Ditchling) are the only showcase Club in the South taking part in this weekend's Nat West Cricket Force programme. On Saturday most of the Sussex CCC squad will be in attendance- passing on coaching tips as well as joining in with the working parties.
On Sunday the Nat West Roadshow will be there together with members of the England Squad. Everyone is invited.
Many other Clubs are taking part across the County in Cricket Force weekend.

Objection to Lindfield CC having £30,000 new nets - detrimental effect on the ancient common. Local Councillors however unanimously supported the scheme- so with the the landlord's consent it can go ahead. £15,000 towards the scheme from money left to Preston Nomads CC by Spen Cama combined with £15,000 of Lindfieldd CC money.

1,674 have responded to the Friends of Sussex Young Cricketers Appeal and have given a minimum doantion of £10. The money raised by the Trust is used for youth cricket in Sussex. Use the Link to see the complete list of Friends

Today is a major move forward day in the communication of youth cricket in part of the County of Sussex- East Sussex youth league has turned to the internet with great potential
League Secretaries - unsung heroes- are beavering away working on the summer fixtures- Jane Seward- West Sussex League advises "Just putting the finishing touches to the West Area League, 22 clubs have entered this year with a total of over 90 teams. A major headache fitting them all in. Will let you have the fixtures next week Regards Jane"
