15 20/20 NATIONAL COMPETITION 2006 PROPOSALS FOR NEW COMPETTITION
SUSSEX have entered this competition and will run it together
with the Frederith Bowl inter school under 15 competition which
will continue using a longer match format.
Thus Sussex Schools may enter both as they wish.

- OBJECTIVE - To establish
a successful national 20/20 competition building on the ESCA
County based competition
- PROPOSALS
1. To move from the County based competition through Regional
rounds and then to a National Finals day
2. Finalists to be the winners of the four ESCA Regions
3. The continuation of the 40 ESCA County based competitions
leading to County Finals
4. The establishment of 4 Regional Competitions leading to Regional
Finals
5. The establishment of a successful Vase Competition- County
based initially
6. FORMAT OF THE FINALS DAY
4 Regional Finals~2 Semi Finals - Semi final winners play in
Grand Final- teams play 12 a side
7. A package will be offered to a Test Match Ground to see if
they are able to host the Grand Final

a. Funding for National Finals
b. Funding for Regional Competition
c. Funding for County Cup Competition and County Finals
d. Funding for Vase competition , also leading to Vase Finals
COUNTY GRANTS - based on
40 Counties- unlike the ECB the ESCA
include non first class Counties in their Regional structure
£50 basic plus incremental for increased entries as follows
10-20 teams £50
21-30 teams £100 - in 2005 Sussex
Schools Cricket Association organised the Frederith Bowl Under
15 competition and had 21 Schools entered.
31-40 teams £125
41-50 teams £175
51 plus teams £200
If Vase competition continues after first round of cup competition
then extra £50 e.g. for County with 31-40 teams then grant
will be £50 +£125 =£175
County Final plus £50
Vase Final plus £50
Therefore Grand total for one County =£325
- This will include Umpires food for County Cup and Vase Finals
- COUNTY COSTS based on
present figures
10 @ 325 = £3,250
11@ £250= £2750
11@ £300= £3300
3 @£400 = £1200
7 @£50 = £350
Total sponsorship to ESCA = £30,000
- The Daily Mail will also spend extra money on servicing the
sponsorship deal and any extra advertising.
DATES FOR THE COMPETITION
- COUNTY ROUNDS -Example as applied to Sussex with 21 teams
MAY 12TH/19TH/26TH- JUNE 2ND - FINAL JUNE 16TH
- The County Final must be played by JUNE 16TH 2006
- REGIONAL FINAL DAYS
- The Regional Final must be played by JULY 7TH 2006
- The Vase competition after 1st round of Cup competition to
be finsihed before the end of summer term.
