HOME CLUBMARK AREAS
EAST AREA - CHAIRMAN'S COMMENTS
- This site (11/02/03) drew
attention to all Sussex Clubs of the forthcoming Clubmark programme
- It noted the commitment required but also recognised the
benefits for each Club.
- The first article was
Working together to develop and recognise
your Club
- Do you believe that your club should
develop its standards and be publicly recognised?
- If so, the England and Wales Cricket
Board (ECB) and Sport England welcome
your commitment and wish to work with you to support
the development of your club.
- Clubmark is an integral part of the
ECB and Active Sports cricket development work with sports clubs.
- Clubmark - safe, effective, child-friendly
- Sport England has worked with National
Governing Bodies (NGB)s to develop core criteria for clubs -
to set standards to which they should all aspire.
- NGBs adopt these criteria within
their own development and accreditation programmes. All clubs
work through their NGB to gain Clubmark recognition
ONE YEAR LATER and the support in the
East Area DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE forthcoming.
Mick Dean, Chairman of the East
Area reports on a meeting held in his Area at his Club on Wedndesday
March 31st 2004
"Last night another course was held at Buxted Park, the only
people to attend were from Buxted CC
I think its an absolute disgrace that clubs in the East area
are not getting involved.
My belief is that if you havent got Clubmark you should not be
able to run a junior section"
- His disappointment
is there for all to see.
The East Area in particular wants a far greater commitment to
the prepared activities being offered to its constituent Clubs.
