The Sussex Young Cricketers Educational Trust, Chairman Richard Greenwood D.L., launched an appeal for a ground -Cricket Year Zero- in the year 2000.
CYZ- was successful but could not attract a grant from any National body because the project was too elitist and too rural.
A ground was found at Blackstone- along a windy country lane
AAn extant but unused ground was selected near to the hamlet of Blackstone. The above photo shows the ground as it was when the Sussex YC Committee visited it for their first viewing in 2000.

22/04/06 New photographs of Preston Nomads CC

The following photos were taken in the Autumn of 2005. The theme of the Festival is to enjoy the rural countryside of Sussex. In Fulking, a hamlet under the southern slopes of the Downs, the home of Preston Nomads C.C. can be found at the Spen Cama Memorial Ground. The two grounds are separated by a Pavilion. A

At this time of the year the two grounds have a shaggy dog look with leaves falling and patches in need of repair are just visible.
The original ground looks south from the pavilion . The Downs provide an idyllic backcloth.

AAn additional acreage was provided by the Allen family which had given the original ground to the hamlet of Blackstone. This overgrown area would be turned into a playing area for under 10 to under 13 children  The A281 Brighton- Horsham road runs alongside the common land. A bus stop is situated at the ground which reflects upon the popularity for summer visitors leaving the city of Brighton and Hove for an afternoon in the countryside.  A The "new"ground looking northward.
A  Looking from the north corner across both grounds as the initial clearing is undertaken  The ground is simply fenced and spectators can park on the common close to the scene of the action

A The old pavilion( the web master looks upon it as the new pavilion since in his playing days one changed in a railway carriage when playing the Nomads.) Old because it has now been knocked down and a new pavilion is being built in time for the Bunbury Festival.

A The new Under 13 ground - inter school kwik cricket finals 2005.A The new Under 15 ground- inter Area cricket Festival 2005.

The pavilion - whilst not the original -does contain some interesting archive materials
