- The photograph was taken from the top of the South Downs
- known as Devil's Dyke.
- Looking down one can see in the forefront the lane which
links the hamlets of POYNINGS - FULKING-
EDBURTON
- In the centre of Fulking the old sign post reads BRIGHTON
9 miles but in reality the city has spread to the top of nearby
Downland and the city boundary is less than 4 miles from the
ground.
- However the countryside surrounding the three hamlets has
hardly changed and driving along the lane only the motor car
intrudes upon a scene little changed throughout time.
- The search for accommodation is thus very difficult in close
proximity to the ground.
- The following will take you to multimap link
to see the position of Fulking and the second
link will pan out showing places within a five mile radius.
- If one clicks on the Hotels available in this area the majority
will be found in Brighton.
- There is no problem finding accommodation
in the City but we wish to encourage our visitors staying in
the rural surrounds.
- There are five hotels within 6 miles of the ground. These
hotels will not entail travelling in traffic.
- Tottington

a telephone number and e-mail address.

from the ground . This 3 star is now in the Best Western chain.
Bramber itself is a village steeped in history. Charles 2nd passed
through here escaping to the continent. The ruins of Bramber
castle and the 15th century church provide historical interest.
- The Travel Lodge, Hickstead is nearly 6 miles from the ground. Sitting
next to the A23 this hotel is probably more suited to those seeking
overnight accommodation and moving on after breakfast the next
morning. It is listed here as it does offer savings.
