The Club details of players selected by the County
Well done the small Clubs
Of the 89 players selected aged 10-15 there are 12 at present not shown attached to a Club.
This site - which supports all the voluntary effort put into youth cricket- has often shown a bias towards the smaller Club.
Whilst some players may have moved Club the original Club attended by the player is shown below and makes interesting reading.
The County Town of Chichester does not appear - Eastbourne- surely some of the 12 not listed must be from this Club with a long tradition of youth success- - has only 1..
Crawley and Ifield - strong holds in years gone by - are not listed
St. Matthias and St. Peters - both Brighton Clubs do not apppear
Roffey stands tall alongside Horsham
Ditchling has success so close to St. James
Does the wide spread list of Clubs pay tribute to the success of the Area organisation?
Is it just not a " good " year for some Clubs ?
5 years ago many of the Clubs listed below would not have appeared and the majority of selections would have been made from a smaller selection of Clubs.
My favourite is still St. Andrews, Burgess Hill - who hopefully will move into a new pavilion this summer - having worked out of a portacabin for many years -
5 County players is most creditable and reward for the hard working volunteers.
Of course - to all Clubs striving simply to provide cricket for the youngsters - gratitude should always be shown.
The web master's comments are not to deride any effort but rather to praise those individuals beavering away in the far flung corners of the County.
One day a player from RYE will once again appear on the list of selections.
The name of Martin Blincow has appeared on the Directory List for many years against the name of Rye CC.
He keeps going with 3 Colts teams - a long way away from the epicentre of the County
