HOME NEW GROUND
SUSSEX YOUNG CRICKETERS MEETING
14/05/02
Progress continues at the new ground.
- The top soil has now been levelled and treated ready for
planting
- The land will be sown in August 2002 rather than immediately
as a dry spell could cause the grass seed to become patchy
- The main field will have a square of at least10 wickets
- Each wicket will be individually laid.
- A pavilion will be built between the two fields providing
access directly on to each playing area.
- The main field has been raised and a gentle bank now leads
on to the second field
- A football field will be available for use on the second
field
- Stoolball will also be played at the ground.
- It is hoped that by July/August 2003 the ground will be ready
for use for cricket. It may well be ready earlier for stoolball.
- The greatly reduced ground plan shows the two playing areas
- the circle of dashes with the squares outlines- rectangular
boxes
- On the smaller ground the football pitch is marked in
- The dark box is the pavilion.
- The 3 shaded strips are all weather nets.
- Car parking is to be provided to the left of the pavilion.
