Sussex were in danger of defeat at 207-7, but Prior and Mark Davis showed admirable concentration in the tiring heat to guide their side to success. Victory was secured with 13 overs remaining, but Sussex batted on until their 90 overs allocation had been completely enabling Prior to complete a maiden half-century. He finished unbeaten on 53 after a match-winning stand of 81 in 25 overs with Davis, who made 28 before he holed out to long off in the penultimate over.
